The Reception Hostess
Someone needs to be in charge of the reception, to deal with the caterer, the band, the photographer, the hungry guests, the cake, the janitor, and etc. The bride and groom usually do not want to fulfill this task.
You may have a friend or relative that is appropriate for this task and willing to do the work. If not, the wedding hostess can usually be hired to be the reception hostess. She can also then be the social hall chaperone if you need one.
