Immanuel's Mission Priorities

Immanuel is a leading congregation of the Mission Coalition.

Mission is in the "congregational DNA". Immanuel was part of the UELC (the sober Danes) for her first 70 years. This church was formed out of the Danes that came over to America out of the "Mission Movement" in Denmark. In the early 1900s, Immanuel parented 6 other congregations in Fresno County.

In the 1980s and 1990s Immanuel has gotten back to her roots. Reaching out to the community in service and word have again become her hallmark.

A church that was once known as the "Danish Church" by community members is now know in the community as the "community's church".

Our "working" statement of purpose is "Empowered by Christ's love, we are motivated to bring everyone into a relationship with Him as Lord and Savior by sharing and serving in our community and throughout the world"

Other statements of purpose that are still being considered are: "Growing Grace, Sharing in Faith, Serving in Love"; "Loving God, Loving Our Neighbor, and Loving Each Other".
