Presidents Report
To begin a journey you must first take the first step. To take the first step you must imagine where that journey will take you. Pastor Paul has spoken on that topic in his first two sermons of the year. That message is so true in every aspect of our lives including our lives together as members of Immanuel. As we look forward to 2007 lets take a quick peek back on 2006. 2006 was the year that the foundations for some really exciting things were laid. The ground for the Education Building was prepared, holes were dug for nine drain wells, a septic tank as big as a Volkswagen bus was put in and connected, and one hundred yards of concrete were poured for the buildings foundation. The property across Elm Avenue will soon be paid off with less than $900.00 left to clear our liability. Not only that, but we landscaped the corner of the property, put a new roof on the house and garage, and installed air conditioning. The smorgy continues to be successful. The Caruthers Fair booth has donated thousands to the Rescue Mission and we have had so much fun doing it. The people of Immanuel continue to donate their time and talents to the church and their community. We donate gallons of blood in honor of Russ Dunbar. We serve lunch to our high school athletes and taught them that we care for them. We provide programs for our seniors and are founders for the planting of a new church in the Madera Ranchos area with the Mission Coalition. Let me take this time to thank all of the people on the council for all of their hard work and all the member of our staff for their dedication with a special thank you to Victoria and Lois and of course to Pastor Paul for his devotion to Immanuel. Thank you all. Now, imagine what we can do in 2007. The Educational building will be built this year and the Call Committee is hard at work looking for our new Associate Pastor. Listening to God’s call what else can we accomplish? 2007 hasn’t been written yet, we can only imagine.
God bless us all. Jim Hansen |
