Stewardship Report

As we begin the journey through another new year, we are also taking a look at our own spiritual journey by “imagining” what changes we can make one step at a time. There is an old saying that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one small step. Pastor Paul began 2007 from the pulpit by challenging all of us to look at own lives and “imagine” how our own daily walk with Jesus can be made stronger by taking at least one step closer to God.

Pastor Paul used the parable of the talents from the book of Matthew. I think this is a great story. I like the use of the word “talents” instead of converting it to dollars. While this particular story deals with money in its use of the word “talents” I think it is easier to expand the concept of the parable into other areas of our lives when we think of “talents” both financially and ability-wise.

The “imagine” process that was introduced to Immanuel encourages each of us to look at our own stewardship of time, talents and treasures. It is exciting to think about the implications of each of us individually, seeking God’s guidance to become better stewards. If we accept this challenge I know we will each be blessed.

It is exciting to think of how our Immanuel family will also be blessed as we strive to become better stewards. As we move forward in the process of calling a second pastor, building our new education facility, and continuing and expanding existing ministries the stewardship of our collective time, talents and treasures will be critical to our ministry. Together let us joyfully be the faithful stewards God is calling us to be. Imagine the possibilities!

Wishing you all God’s richest blessings!
