Who Are We?

We are: Called to Know Christ Fully and to Make Christ Known to those who do not yet know him.

We are: Loving God; Loving Each other; And Loving Others.

We are: a small town, family church.

Immanuel's First Sanctuary, built in 1888.         Immanuel's Present Sanctuary, built in 1956.

Immanuel is a 119  year old church (see "A History") that is located in Easton, CA (4 miles South of Fresno).

Our average attendance on Sunday (1 morning & 1 evening service) is 238 (169 at the blended morning service; 68 at the country gospel evening service). We have about 120 souls in weekly study; Sunday school and Small Groups. Plus our weekly youth group meetings; @15 in Sr. High and @10 in Jr. High.

Immanuel has 298 adult members, 139 family units.

Pastor Paul Demant has been here since 1983.

We have one service on Sunday morning. Our service generally includes a variety of music. Our understanding is that all of God's music is for all of God's people and God loves all of our music. The service is liturgical in format but not chanted. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of the month. A typical service has the Praise Band leading music during the time of the Call to Worship and leading the Hymn of Praise. Our Chancel Choir sings a wide variety of music.

On Sunday evenings as part of our evangelism efforts we worship in a "Country Gospel" Service. The good news of Jesus Christ is spoken in the language of Country Gospel music every Sunday evening. This is a very exciting ministry. The Country Gospel Band is great and the service is too much fun.

We have a variety of musical groups: The Chancel Choir; The Praise Band; The Women's Chorus; The Men's Chorus; The Barbershop Quartet; The Children's Choir; The Children's Rhythm Band; The Country Gospel Band and, The Children's Bell Choir.

We have 8 Small Groups Ministries Bible Studies that meet weekly in members' homes. Some of these small groups are for couples, some for women only and some for men only. We have 5 Women's Ministries Bible Studies that meet monthly. We have 1 men's Bible Study that meets weekly for breakfast.

Thanks to the good work of our Volunteer Coordinator, Laura Nielsen, we have a large percentage of our membership active in ministries to others and they are constantly working to increase that number.

We are growing. About 1/2 of our membership are life-long members; about 1/2 have joined in the last 15 years. Our average attendance in 1983 was 95. In 2006 it was 238. That is growth that is slow enough to deal with, one step at a time; and fast enough to be very exciting!

We are a leading partner of the Mission Coalition.

We are in the middle of a building program. We are currently building an Education Building, putting a upscale coffee shop in the entryway of the sanctuary, and moving the sound board to the back of the sanctuary. A larger Social Hall is next.

We are currently in the call process to call a second pastor.
